Weeks Between Dates Calculator

Calculate weeks and remaining days between two dates, check total days, switch inclusive counting, and copy the result.

How this weeks between dates calculator works

Enter a start date and an end date, and the calculator turns the elapsed calendar days into full weeks plus remaining days. Total days are shown separately for comparison.

The default mode counts elapsed days from the start date up to the end date. If you turn on inclusive count, both selected dates are included in the weeks and days result.

Whole weeks are complete seven-day periods. Remaining days are the remainder after those periods, while decimal weeks divide the same signed total-day count by seven; decimal weeks are not ISO or other numbered calendar weeks.

When weeks and days are useful

Weeks plus days can be easier to scan than a raw day count for project planning, school terms, trip planning, personal schedules, and simple calendar examples.

For a days-first result, use the date duration calculator. For completed calendar months, use the months between dates calculator.

Weeks between dates FAQ

Are the start and end dates included?

Elapsed mode excludes the starting date and reaches the ending date. Inclusive mode counts both selected dates.

How are partial weeks shown?

The result separates completed seven-day weeks from the remaining days and also shows total days.

Is a decimal week the same as a calendar week?

No. Decimal weeks divide the selected total-day count by seven; they do not describe numbered calendar weeks.

What happens if I reverse the dates?

The result keeps the entered order and uses a negative sign when the end date is before the start date.
